Terms of Use

In short: Be kind, be honest, and use Accord for what it's for. You own what you post. Accord is free for members; institutions may pay for extra services later.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By using Accord (the website and the Android app), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. Accord is run by Samuel Nkrumah, Ghana. Contact: samnkrumah6@gmail.com.

2. Who can use Accord

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you should have your parent's or guardian's permission. You must give a true birth year when asked. You may only have accounts that are really yours.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.

4. Be kind and safe — what's not allowed

Harassing, bullying, threatening or scaring anyone.
Anything that sexualises or harms children, or trying to contact teenagers you don't know.
Hate speech, or content that promotes violence.
Scams, spam, fake accounts, or pretending to be another person or an institution.
Sharing other people's private information without permission.
Illegal content, or content you don't have the right to share.
Breaking, overloading or hacking Accord, or collecting other users' data.

You can report and block anyone from inside the app. We may remove content, and pause or close accounts that break these rules. For serious harm, we may inform the authorities.

5. Institutions

If you create an institution (a school, university, faith community, company, club or NGO), you confirm that you have the right to act for it. Institutions start as "Unverified" with a member limit, and Accord may check them before giving a "Checked" or "Verified" badge. Institutions must use their tools honestly: official notices must be true, invitations must go only to real members, and parent links must be approved only for real parents or guardians. Institution admins cannot read members' private chats. We may suspend an institution that is fake or misused.

6. What you post

You own your messages and content. You give Accord permission to store, process and deliver them only so that Accord can work (for example, sending a message to the person you chose, or translating it when you ask). We don't use your content for advertising.

7. AI features

Accord's AI (assistant, translation, Polish, summaries, transcription and mode sorting) can make mistakes. Check anything important before you rely on it. AI answers are not professional, medical, legal or financial advice.

8. Accord Pro and payments

Accord is free for members. If paid plans (such as Accord Pro, or institution plans) are offered, their price and terms will be shown clearly before you pay.

9. Changes and availability

We keep improving Accord, so features may change. We try to keep Accord running at all times, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. If we change these Terms in an important way, we'll tell you in the app.

10. Limits of responsibility

Accord is provided "as it is". As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for what users or institutions post or send, or for losses caused by using Accord. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under the law of your country.

11. Ending

You can stop using Accord and delete your account at any time (☰ → Settings → Delete account). We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.

12. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, without taking away any protection your own country's law gives you.
